Management

Mr. Rama brings to Uurmi more than 20 years of senior-level management and sales experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to Uurmi, he was a co-founder and VP, APAC at Hellosoft, an IP company engaged in developing communication software and hardware solutions. At Hellosoft, Mr. Rama led the R&D in India and Sales in APAC. Hellosoft was acquired by Imagination Technologies in 2010. Prior to Hellosoft, Mr. Rama was the founder VP of ZSP Inc's India operations. ZSP Inc. was a fabless semiconductor company with offices in India and USA, and was acquired by LSI logic. Prior to ZSP, Mr. Rama held multiple engineering and management positions at Ford motor Company in the Ford Electronics and Advanced Vehicle Engineering division. Mr. Rama holds one patent, an MS from University of Missouri and a BS from Andhra University.

Dr. Shanti Swarup advises on the technology portfolio at Uurmi and manages the Information processing and Autonomous Systems area at Uurmi. He received his Ph.D degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Missouri in 1997. He has published over 100 invited, journal, and conference papers and has been on the program committee for several leading IEEE conferences. He organized the IEEE workshop on "object tracking and classification beyond the visible spectrum" at the 2010 CVPR and was the program chair for the 2014 IEEE conference on Vehicular Electronics and Safety. He was invited to present a Google Hangout on behalf of ARM on the latest trends in sensing technologies. He was the program chair for the 2016 Embedded Vision Workshop at CVPR. He has 45 issued patents and over 10 patents that are filed and pending. He is a senior member of IEEE.

Rohit is the Chief Operating Officer at Uurmi. He is a 22 year veteran in military and brings to Uurmi a unique combination of battlefield leadership experience and a strong technology background. He has been involved with various battlefield systems and some high technology projects in the Defence and space domains. Rohit is an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA) and has done a variety of technology, weapon systems and tactical courses of the Military. Amongst the numerous command and staff appointments he has served as the Joint Director in Defence Spacecraft Control Center and Senior Project Manager at the Simulation Development Division.
He received his B. Tech in Electronics & Military Telecommunications from Military College of Telecommunications Engineering (MCTE) and Jawaharlal Nehru University and M. Tech in Mathematical Modeling & Simulation from the Institute of Armament Technology and Pune University. He has published papers on use of modeling & simulation in Counter terrorism and conventional combat operations in various M&S journals and conferences. He received his MBA from the Indian School of Business.

Srinivas Bathini heads the engineering team at Uurmi. He has more than two decades of experience in the telecommunication industry and is an expert in a wide range of communication technologies including GSM/GPRS, WiFi, ISDN, ATM, CTI, DSL, VoIP, and wireless.
Prior to Uurmi, Bathini was a Director at Hellosoft India, an IP company that was acquired by Imagination Technologies in 2010. Prior to Hellosoft, he held a variety of engineering roles in startups and telecom majors in the US such as Nortel Networks and Telogy Networks, a Texas Instruments company. Bathini started his career with India's premier telecommunication company, the Indian Telephone Industries, where he spent his time developing rural automatic exchanges. Bathini holds a BS and MS degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Osmania University in India.

MV Srinivas (MVS) heads the software development efforts at Uurmi. MVS has 19 years of experience in the telecom industry having started his carrier at AT&T Labs where he was involved in design, development and deployment of Class 5 and Class 4 VoIP switches.
Prior to Uurmi, MVS was a part of Hellosoft, which was acquired by Imagination Technologies in 2010. He has also worked at Telcordia and a number of technology startups. MVS holds an MS degree from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India and was a Ph.D candidate at Clemson University, USA where he worked on 'Parallel Algorithms for Graph theoretical Problems'.
